While discussing my art in my critique group, we generally talked about how I was going to manage my time wisely to complete this project on time.We also talked about multiple way that I could present and create my artwork. After discussing that we talked about the basic components that were going to make up my art work, we talked about the materials used and what my artwork was going to represent and the meaning of my piece. What I generally said when discussing this was that the reason I wanted to use paper clips to create the quote in 3-D “Keep it together” was to use an everyday object to create message that I honestly tell myself mostly everyday. People in my group that were critiquing me said that using the quote “keep it together” and using paper clips to demonstrate it is a semi cheesy way to do so, but as I explained that I was using paper clips because the purpose for them are to keep multiple papers together and to minimize disorganization. I feel like combining the paperclips with something I say often can represent how I don't want things to get out of order such as my thoughts and ideas and I generally want to keep everything from being disorganized and in this piece I'm using the paper clips to symbolize precisely that. In my critiques we also discussed about my artist inspiration and why choose him. I generally said that my artist inspiration Farhad Moshiri uses everyday items to create something amazing. I used one of his pieces called “Right as Rain” in which he used knives to spell the words out, I used that piece because I really loved the way he did it as well as it inspired me to create a message using an everyday object and give it a deeper meaning than what it has.
